John Wesley Foster Memorial Classic 2009

John Wesley Foster Foundation with Siran Stacy
What a story of 2 families who faced tragedy and somehow found the strength to inspire others through Christ. We recently had the opportunity to spend the day with some of John Wesley Foster's family and friends as well as Siran Stacy at the 3rd Annual John Wesley Foster Memorial Classic Golf Tournament. Siran Stacy was a former University of Alabama football star who lost his wife and four of his five kids in a tragic auto accident in 2007. He and his daughter are all that survived. He now travels around sharing his testimony with others and preaching at churches. He was also the honorary captain of the 2008 Iron Bowl. Roll Tide!!John Wesley Foster was a happy, healthy 9-year-old boy who passed away from a sudden unknown heart condition while playing football with his dad. His loving parents, Mike and Heather, began a foundation to raise awareness and "make their community a heart healty place to live." The entire family is so kind and gracious!I'm sure everyone was tired by the end of the day-especially Siran! He played the same hole all day long with thirty-something teams, but stayed just as positive with the last team as with the first one! What an awesome guy!
